A Bit More About
Kyle D McCall, MEd, LPC
Clinical Mastery, Frontline Experience, Online Therapy Across Texas.
It is rare to find a therapist who has directed major behavioral health systems, trained the next generation of clinicians, stood on the edge of a bridge during a life-or-death crisis, and worked the back of an ambulance. At Weeping Pines Integrated Wellness, founded by Kyle D McCall, MEd, LPC, you aren’t just getting a textbook approach to therapy, you are getting decades of high-level clinical mastery combined with boots-on-the-ground operational grit.
Weeping Pines was built to provide highly tactical, deeply compassionate care to everyone—from civilians navigating daily burnout and identity transitions to first responders processing the heavy toll of the shift.

15 Years of Clinical Leadership & Crisis Intervention
Before ever putting on an EMS uniform, I spent 15 years as Kyle D McCall, MEd, LPC/LPC-S (Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor) in Texas and Virginia, working across almost every level of the mental health system. My clinical foundation was built in the trenches of both community and systemic healthcare.
During my time in Virginia, my roles included:
- System Leadership: Running a stabilization hospital for the City Behavioral Health Authority and supervising an integrated behavioral health program for the Bon Secours hospital system.
- Regional Directorship: Serving as the Clinical Director for Virginia Family Services, overseeing operations across a massive footprint from South Hampton to Roanoke, and the Potomac down to South Hill and Farmville.
- State-Level Clinical Supervision: Serving for five years as a state supervisor for the Commonwealth of Virginia. In this role, I had the privilege of ushering graduate students and new counseling residents into the profession—educating them, fine-tuning their clinical skills in real-time, and shaping the standard of care for the next generation of providers.
- Legal & Community Partnership: Running a private practice that partnered with County Community Service Boards, and providing expert witness testimony for Hanover, Henrico, and Chesterfield counties, as well as the City of Richmond.
- Active Crisis Negotiation: Partnering directly with local police forces to provide immediate crisis intervention in emergency situations—including on-site negotiations talking individuals in crisis off the Robert E. Lee Bridge spanning the James River an the like.
Civilian Care & Deep Identity Work
As Kyle D McCall, MEd, LPC-S, my civilian practice was (and still is) rooted in helping individuals do the deep, internal work necessary for lasting peace. A significant part of my background involves providing better understanding of mood disorders, introducing trauma-informed care to the military community re-entering civilian life, substance use rational understanding, and affirming gender therapy for youth navigating dysphoria.
My clinical philosophy in this space is highly protective and thorough: I work with individuals to deeply process their dysphoria prior to undergoing hormone treatments or surgical alterations. External changes alone do not inherently erase internal distress; if the internal foundation isn’t addressed, the dysphoria often just shifts to the new exterior. By prioritizing the internal psychological work first, we help prevent remorseful outcomes and ensure that any path forward is built on genuine clarity, confidence, and self-acceptance.
The Shift to the Frontline
After 15 years of clinical practice as Kyle D McCall, MEd, LPC, I transitioned into Emergency Medical Services and academia with The First Responders’ Academy at Amarillo College as Kyle D McCall, MEd, EMT. I wanted to take my clinical expertise to the streets.
During my years in the field, I saw firsthand the profound toll that high-consequence environments take on the human nervous system. I realized that stabilizing a patient medically is only half the battle; true survival means learning how to process that stress so it doesn’t destroy your life when you go home.
But my time in the field also exposed a devastating reality. I noticed local suicidal ideation, attempts, and completions among first responders were rising at an alarming rate, far outpacing the national average. When I looked at the help available to these crews, I was incredibly frustrated. There are plenty of resources that sound good and look nice on paper, but when a responder is actually in crisis, those resources are often buried under red tape or represent more of a hassle to obtain than they are worth.
I returned to the counseling field to build the resource that was missing—a tangible, accessible, no-nonsense lifeline. Today, my therapy practice bridges the gap between this lived operational reality and my extensive background in clinical mental health.
A Legacy of Accessible Care
Throughout my career in Virginia, I championed a non-profit community clinic specifically designed to serve those with lesser means, ensuring they had access to high-quality mental health care, and to educate the community about true well-being facilitated through integrative approaches to healthcare; not only counseling for the emotional, but the physical, mental, and spiritual needs as well.
That exact same mission drives Weeping Pines today. Through our sliding-scale Serotiny Program, we ensure that world-class, specialized therapy remains accessible to the community at large—because everyone deserves the opportunity to heal and grow.

Meet Kauhlin Lewis: EMS Veteran & Intuitive Co-Pilot
I am not the only one at Weeping Pines with operational experience. I am joined in this practice by Kauhlin Lewis, a dedicated service dog and fellow EMS veteran who rode alongside me on the ambulance during our years in the field.
Kauhlin thrived in the operational environment. At the station, he was known for herding the crew to the vehicles the second the tones dropped. Between calls, he was a quiet, steadying presence, providing intuitive, stabilizing comfort to crews coming down from high-adrenaline runs.
When we transitioned into academia, Kauhlin brought that same incredible intuition to the First Responders’ Academy. He displayed a remarkable gift for identifying students in distress, offering silent, grounding comfort while they navigated difficult academic days or high-stakes skills testing.
Today, that same intuitive compassion is a foundational pillar of Weeping Pines. While he may not be riding in the rig anymore, his legacy of steady, non-judgmental support sets the tone for every session we conduct.
Texas Roots & Statewide Commitment
I grew up right here in Amarillo, Texas. I spent my early college years going to school in East Texas before proudly finishing my education at Texas Tech. After building a 15-year clinical career (between Texas and the East Coast), I return home, once again as Kyle D McCall, MEd, LPC, with my experience to serve the community I love.
Though our physical roots are firmly planted in the Texas Panhandle, our mission extends border to border. We proudly offer flexible, 100% online therapy across the entire state of Texas. By utilizing secure, HIPAA-compliant, telehealth platforms, we ensure that high-quality, culturally competent care is accessible exactly where and when you need it—whether you are on your couch, in your office, or parked safely in your vehicle between shifts.
We don’t just treat the symptoms of the fire; we help you use it to spark new growth: this is Serotiny.
